What is impermanence?

Impermanence is the fact that even when one is healthy and fortunate, there is no guarantee that it will continue, and this is very distressing.
Death is simply the most extreme form of impermanence.

To accept impermanence, Buddhism recommends letting go of attachment. However, one must first understand what that means. It does not mean renouncing pleasure at all, but rather living fully in the present moment, so as not to become enslaved by the necessity of its repetition. Attachment is the need for things to continue unchanged for the person to feel complete and whole... because they have not succeeded in experiencing them fully.
This clarifies the complementary meaning to be given to our advice 'Domesticate pleasure' in the context of the question 'How to succeed in life?'.

We find the importance of living fully in the present in the context of ACT therapy, of which it constitutes axis 4.

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) proposes specifically to work on this axis 4 of the 'here and now' by training us to stably fix our attention on present sensations.
However, we draw your attention to the fact that working exclusively on focusing on present sensations can become a form of avoidance of our negative emotions, just as can letting one's smartphone monopolize one's attention. Axis 1 of ACT, for example through meditation practice, seems to us an indispensable complement.
